GJUUM utilise physiotherapists in bridging the gap between recovering from injury and returning to performance. We use a combined team approach in developing rehabilitation pathways for injured dancers based on up-to-date, evidence-based treatment and management strategies. We investigate any potential causes of current or previous injuries and ensure that any imbalances are addressed within the dancer’s individualised training program.
Our GJUUM physios have many years of experience working within ballet and contemporary dance companies, providing day-to-day physio treatment and tour support. They also support individual clients who seek our help following an injury. Dancers with a recent injury or a history of recurrent injuries are initially assessed by one of our physios. This is followed by a combined team approach to developing a rehab/training plan aimed at reducing injury while optimising performance.
